Crossroads Charter Schools K-12th grade. Students must turn 5 by September 1 for Kindergarten eligibility.

Crossroads has a 4-week Jumpstart Session prior to the first day of school. All students are encouraged to attend as it allows additional learning opportunities and a time for students to acclimate to classroom rules and procedures. 

Yes. We provide bus transportation to students who live 1-mile or more away from their designated school.

As a public charter school, Crossroads Charter Schools is free and open to all students who reside within the district boundaries of Kansas City Public Schools.

• Lottery: The lottery drawing is used to fill available spaces for enrollment. After the available spaces are filled, the remaining names go onto a waitlist.

• Sibling preference: Crossroads Charter Schools and its families benefit from keeping families together. For this reason, Crossroads Charter Schools offer an admissions sibling preference. To receive sibling preference in the lottery, parents or guardians must submit a completed enrollment application via SchoolAppKC.org by February  22nd.

• Greater Downtown preference: Crossroads Charter Schools offer admissions preference to families residing within KCPS district boundaries that live or work in the Greater Downtown Area. (State Line to Prospect and the Missouri River to 39th Street) In order to receive this preference, parents or guardians must submit a completed enrollment application and upload proof of residency or employment within the priority zone via SchoolAppKC.org by February  22nd. Please note that students must reside in the Kansas City Public School Boundaries in order to attend Crossroads. 

We use a variety of high-quality educational resources throughout the school. Our curriculum is aligned to the Missouri Learning Standards and encompasses Expeditionary Learning, Project Based Learning, Project Lead the Way, and Blended Learning.

Our co-teaching model allows teachers to work with small groups of students on a particular skill/concept at their level.  Other students may be collaborating with their peers or working on an online platform based on student need.   We also offer reading tutoring through our full-time interventionist that works with students who need additional support.  Our full-time enrichment teacher works with students in grades 3rd -8th that need a more challenging curriculum and our full-time special education teacher and English Language Learners teacher work with students with identified needs.  During our daily Extended Learning Program students who need remediation receive additional small group instruction while students who need acceleration participate in enrichment activities.

We use the Central Library as our school library, Case Park as our playground. Our students also visit the Folly Theater, Quality Hill Playhouse, Science City, City Hall and other downtown businesses as an extension of the classroom curriculum.

Yes. All students must wear navy or khaki pants, shorts, or skirts and tennis shoes every day for physical activities.  At Central Street students are required to wear a white, yellow, or red polo shirt.  At Quality Hill, students are required to wear a white or blue (light, royal, navy, teal) polo shirt. At Crossroads Preparatory Academy, students are required to wear a powder blue, navy blue, or white polo shirt.
